There is a real "Pierre" behind Pierre Foods. Samuel Dinerman, a young lawyer in Cincinnati, loved to eat and to cook. His culinary talents earned him the nickname "Pierre," and when he founded his own business selling frozen food products to restaurants in 1946, he lent it his nickname. The business prospered, and today Pierre Foods has grown into a nationally recognized brand of high-quality meat products, microwavable sandwiches, bakery products and entrees sold primarily to the foodservice, school, military, warehouse club, vending and convenience store markets.
